A thing of ‘pleasure’ is a joy forever

In early college days the cribbing for power comes into play, which was latent during school days. Then, the career and finally when you reach there, you realize that those bygone days were better

Simple pleasures give happiness but we tend to complicate things as we grow old and capacitated. I remember that as a child I along with my siblings used to get very excited when my father bought us a Cadbury’s chocholate.

We had to share it but even that sharing only increased the joy. As we grew older the Cadbury’s started losing its charm and our desires and aspirations increased. We wanted a specific toy or a particular dress, but when we got them the size of our scale of satisfaction increased further.

Then at teenage love made a sudden entry and completely revolutionized the existence. Nothing seemed more important than love or infatuation as we may call it now. Happiness was changing its meaning and what was happiness yesterday, became a nuisance today.

The friend without whom, I never had my Tiffin during recess became a disturbance because I wanted to spend that time with someone else. Even, that special she lost her charm when someone more important made entry into my life at a later stage of schooling. Finally, the school got over and college days were even more complicated.

One of my friends said that it might also be seen as vice versa, ie You were always happy but didn’t realise it. Actually that realization is happiness.
