Vodafone India said that it had launched new international roaming packs with the opening up of international travel. Vi hopes to retain customers with postpaid packs and features that address international roaming concerns. It currently offers roaming services through partnerships with local operators in 81 countries, in 29 of which it also offers high speed 4G on international roaming through its roaming packs.
Vi International Roaming packs offer features like unlimited voice calls and data on its roaming networks across travel destinations globally. Vi post-paid customers travelling to business and holiday destinations such as UAE, UK, USA, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Australia, Thailand, and Brazil can opt for Vi Unlimited International Roaming packs, starting from INR 599 offering 24 hour validity to INR 5999 pack that comes with 28 days validity.
The postpaid packs come with the ‘Always On’ feature that ensures that customers do not get charged exorbitant rates while on international roaming even after the expiry of the subscribed pack.
For example if travellers who have subscribed to the 7 day Vi Postpaid Roaming Pack, have to extend their stay, they can continue to use their phone for voice, SMS and data, and will be charged standard rates till the user’s usage value doesn’t cross INR 599. Upon crossing INR 599, the user will be billed INR 599 for each additional day that they use the International roaming facility, thus getting safeguarded from bill shocks.
