Munavar Fairoos, an Indian expatriate employed as a private driver in Al Ain, UAE, had an exceptionally fortunate start to the new year by winning the jackpot prize of 20 million UAE Dirhams at the Big Ticket Live draw on December 31. This windfall translates to approximately INR 44,75,67,571 (Rs 44 crore). Remarkably, Munavar plans to share this substantial prize equally with 30 individuals who collectively contributed to purchasing the winning lottery ticket. As reported by Khaleej Times, Munavar has been a dedicated customer of Big Ticket, consistently buying lottery tickets every month for the past five years.

Still in disbelief over his unexpected win, Munavar stated, “I’m not sure yet because I really did not expect this to happen. I’m still shocked and will need to take some time to think about my options.”

In addition to Munavar, 10 other winners from Indian, Palestinian, Lebanese, and Saudi Arabian backgrounds received cash prizes of 100,000 UAE Dirhams each, approximately INR 22,68,607 (Rs 22 lakh).

“It was my seven-year-old daughter who actually chose the winning ticket numbers. My family is very excited about the win. We bought a home in India and plan to use the money to pay off the interest.”

Another notable winner on December 31 was Suthesh Kumar Kumaresan, an Indian residing in Abu Dhabi and working as an engineer for Etihad Airways. Suthesh, a regular lottery ticket buyer, revealed that he purchased the winning ticket worth 1 million UAE Dirhams (approximately INR 22,668,500) from the in-store counters at Abu Dhabi International Airport. During his journey back to the UAE from a family vacation, his seven-year-old daughter chose the winning ticket numbers. Expressing his excitement, Suthesh mentioned, “It was my seven-year-old daughter who actually chose the winning ticket numbers. My family is very excited about the win. We bought a home in India and plan to use the money to pay off the interest.”
