Fully vaccinated passengers, who have completed the full schedule of vaccination and taken both doses of approved vaccine, will be exempted from the pre-departure RT-PCR test requirement, if they are flying with Air India Express. The airline has said that all passengers will continue to undergo thermal screening on arrival and if found symptomatic, will be treated as per protocol. Children below five years of age have been exempted from both pre and post-arrival testing.

These latest announcements have come after the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was signed between India and UAE.

The new relaxation in rules do not cover travellers who obtained vaccines in the UAE. Also, passengers flying directly from Kolkata to Dubai have been exempted from rapid PCR tests at the airport. The airline has announced new flights to the Middle East, including flights between Mangaluru and Jeddah and additional flights between Dammam and Riyadh in March 2022

All passengers will be required to upload the Covid-19 vaccination certificate issued in India on the Air Suvidha portal. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers should carry a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test report and upload the same on the portal before departure. The test should have been conducted within 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight. Those failing to comply with the above requirement along with furnishing details on the self-declaration form would be denied boarding.
