India’s top recruiting agency for public servants, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), declared the final result of the 2020 civil services examination on Friday (September 24, 2021).
Shubham Kumar secured the first rank followed by Jagrati Awasthi (second) and Ankita Jain (third).
The UPSC recommended 761 candidates for appointment on the basis of a written exam and personality test held in August-September, 2021. There are 151 provisional candidates. The result is available on upsc.gov.in.
Shubham Kumar is a B. Tech graduate from IIT Bombay, while Jagrati Awasthi, who is overall second and first among women graduated in B. Tech from MANIT Bhopal.
The UPSC conducts the civil services examination in three stages ‑‑ preliminary, mains and interview to select candidates for different administrative cadres IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and IRTS.
