If found positive in Rapid RT PCR, passengers will be asked to take a regular RT PCR test
To counter the spread of the Omicron variant, while the Indian government has enforced new arrival guidelines to screen passengers from various countries, Maharashtra has put in its protocols for Mumbai International airport.
CSMIA Mumbai has put in new testing rules for all international arrivals, with effect from January 2, 2022.
These include the Rapid RT PCR test for all international passengers arriving at Mumbai Airport. If found positive in Rapid RT PCR, passengers will be asked to take a regular RT PCR test.
If RT-PCR test is negative, the passenger will be allowed to go home and quarantine for seven days
For those who test positive and are symptomatic will be admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital for treatment free of cost. If they want to be in private care and are willing to pay up, they will be admitted to the Bombay Hospital/Breach Candy Hospital.
For those who test positive and are asymptomatic, they will be quarantined at the BKC/Kanjurmarg Jumbo Centre free of cost. If they are willing to pay for it, they can also be transferred to a hotel on the list of the government. If RT-PCR test is negative, the passenger will be allowed to go home and quarantine for seven days.
