The extreme heat conditions in India has forced Canada to issue a travel advisory for those wanting to visit India. The advice mentions the “heatwave currently affecting India, causing wildfires and electrical outages”. Canadian citizens in India have been asked to “follow the instructions of regional health authorities and civil protection authorities.”
“Stay hydrated; avoid outdoor activities, especially in areas affected by smoke from wildfires; be prepared to change travel plans on short notice, including cutting short or cancelling your trip; follow the instructions of regional health authorities and civil protection authorities and dial 102 in case of medical emergency,” says the advisory
“A heatwave is affecting India. The heatwave has caused wildfires and power outages, and has damaged harvests. Wildfires may also affect transportation, leading to train service suspension and highway closures,” says the Canadian travel advisory for India with the update about “natural disasters and climate – addition of information on the heatwave”.
