Garuda Aerospace signs MOU with The Indian Institute of Science

 In order to synergize efforts and seek optimum services for benefit of all three parties, the companies have formed a tripartite to formalize the working under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

One of the fastest-growing drone manufacturers in India, Garuda Aerospace, has recently signed an MOU with The Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The MOU highlights the collaborative services they will be offering by using drones and UAVs in multipurpose operations. Department of Aerospace Engineering (DoAE) will be supporting them in future operations with the MOU being signed for a term of 2 years.

In order to synergize efforts and seek optimum services for benefit of all three parties, the companies have formed a tripartite to formalize the working under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Building up cooperation between the parties in areas of recent developments in the surveillance application using Drones, UAVs and a large number of potential applications emerging for the benefit of the geography fieldwork surveys for government and society. Collaborative operational and research projects in these areas may be taken up by Garuda Aerospace, DoAE and  IISc.

Furthermore, the company will focus on providing aerial imaging, agricultural drones and related field services. Garuda Aerospace is rapidly emerging as the pioneer and market leader in the Drone as a Service (DaaS) space in increasing efficiency and reducing the cost of production in various organizations across India.

Garuda Aerospace boasts of a drone fleet of 400 drones and a well-trained team of over 500 pilots across 26 different cities. Garuda Aerospace has been termed as India’s most valuable startup and expects to be India’s first drone Unicorn startup in the near future.

Speaking on the development, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO, Garuda Aerospace, said, “The association is a step towards realizing the company’s potential to provide developments of digital input processing packaging tools including yield estimation from a given image, diagnoses of Crops, surveillance and mapping of fields and lands with the recently launched Droni drone by MS Dhoni which will be used for surveillance. We have already been boosting the agricultural sector by providing Kisan drones. We aim to make farmers of India ‘Atmanirbhar’ under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Dr SN Omkar, Chief Research Scientist Control and Guidance, IISc, highlighted “We are happy and looking forward to working with one of the most dynamic drone manufacturers Garuda Aerospace. They have delivered excellent results in all the operations. This partnership will facilitate the collaborative development of new technology related to surveillance applications using drones, that will benefit the farmers, the government and the country as a whole. IISc will provide a central cloud platform for storage of data.”

Garuda Aerospace recently commenced its $30 million Series A round at a $250 million valuation. Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has invested and is also the Brand Ambassador of the company. Garuda Aerospace boasts of a drone fleet of 400 drones and a well-trained team of over 500 pilots across 26 different cities.
