Sanduja, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, has emphasized that Kamala Harris may be Pakistan’s preferred candidate in the upcoming U.S. elections, urging Indian Americans to reconsider their support

Last month, Hindus for America First officially endorsed Donald Trump for the November 5 election
A prominent Hindu political group in the U.S., Hindus for America First, has raised concerns about Vice President Kamala Harris’s connections with Asif Mahmood, a Pakistani-American commissioner on the U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), reported PTI.
The group expressed apprehensions about how a Harris administration might handle sensitive geopolitical issues like Kashmir, particularly in light of Mahmood’s influence.
Mahmood, who has connections with Pakistan’s political elites, announced in September that he would host a fundraiser for Harris, alongside her sister, Maya Harris. His ties to Pakistan’s government, which has often criticized India, have sparked concerns about Harris’s potential foreign policy stances
Utsav Sanduja, the founder and chairman of Hindus for America First, criticized Harris after the USCIRF released a report alleging that religious freedom in India has worsened throughout 2024, especially before and after the country’s general elections. India dismissed the report as malicious and aimed at discrediting the commission further.
In a video shared on social media platform X, Harris is seen praising Mahmood for his long-standing support of her political career, stating, “When I decided to run for president, he was one of the first calls I made.” The video was reportedly filmed at Mahmood’s residence in June 2019.
