India achieves major milestone of 1 billion Covid-19 vaccination

Around 75 per cent of all adults have received the first dose of the vaccine and 31 per cent have been administered both the doses

India achieved a major milestone in Covid-19 vaccination by administering 1 billion Covid vaccine doses just in 9 months after the beginning of nationwide vaccination drive on January 16, 2021.

Around 75 per cent of all adults have received the first dose of the vaccine and 31 per cent have been administered both the doses, said a data released by the Government of India.

With 12 crore vaccinations the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh is top in the list followed by Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Vaccination coverage in high inoculation states, according to data posted on MyGov website, is as follows:
