India and UAE bolster strategic ties: PM Modi meets UAE Deputy PM

The meeting reaffirmed the shared vision of India and the UAE to enhance their strategic partnership and contribute to regional and global stability

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on December 12, 2024, in New Delhi. The meeting underscored the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations, characterized by frequent high-level engagements and strategic collaborations.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed his warm regards to the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and lauded the visit of Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to India in September 2024. He described these engagements as a testament to the generational continuity in the two countries’ bilateral relations.

Acknowledging the vital role of the Indian diaspora in the UAE, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership for their continued efforts in ensuring the welfare of the Indian community, which serves as a vital link between the two nations

During the discussions, the leaders explored ways to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, focusing on key areas such as technology, energy, and fostering stronger people-to-people connections.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEEC), a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and driving economic prosperity. He stressed the importance of its implementation as a cornerstone of the evolving partnership.

The Deputy PM of the UAE, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, shared insights on the current geopolitical dynamics in West Asia. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to promoting long-term peace, stability, and security in the region.
