India Assist provides emergency and personal assistance services for safe and secure travel. Harish Khatri, Founder & MD, India Assist talking to ETTravelWorld said, “The Covid-19 pandemic was one of the most challenging times for the travel industry. The global pandemic that lasted for nearly two years forced many businesses to redesign their products and services. We launched our services for travellers in February 2020, but we had to shut down within a month in March 2020. However, even with all the difficulties, we knew that our product and services are top-notch, and we proved it as well. We are now giving world-class Assistance Services in a B2B avatar for all domestic and international travellers.”

Offering emergency and personal travel assistance services to inbound travellers at the beginning, India Assist has now redesigned its services to cater the domestic market. The company is aiding services in a B2B avatar for all domestic and international travellers currently in more than 100 cities across the country.

Khatri is now planning to expand services of India Assist to 20 more Indian cities by the end of this financial year along with expansion internationally with foray into five nations by 2024. “We began our journey by easing travel experience for international travellers but now we have redesigned our services to cater the domestic market and create a support system for them. We have been providing travel assistance to travellers through our B2B partners. We plan to enhance our relationships with the B2B partners and other working bodies by helping them to generate more revenues through our business model and by providing the best travel assistance services to travellers,”

India Assist is the showcase startup of the Government of India, developed to improve the travel experience of Indian and foreign travellers by offering personal assistance services. Focussed on providing verified information and on-ground assistance to travellers, it is the only global player pioneering emergency travel assistance service available in India.

  • India Assist has also recently partnered with the Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to provide emergency assistance services to travellers. The company has signed an MoU with IRCTC to deliver ‘On-Ground Assistance’ to any traveller who requires help.

The company’s target audience includes, international as well as domestic travellers and aims to reach them by building a service ecosystem that connects tourism boards, hotels, travel agents, airlines, railways, travel insurance and corporates.

Khatri said that India Assist’s vision is to handhold the travellers and give them the confidence to plan their trips whatever way they want. “Unforeseen incidents like baggage loss, theft, medical emergency, unreliable transport facilities and language barrier can result to constant stress and worry for travellers. That’s why planning vacations is quite overwhelming. In current scenario there is no proper channel/predefined system available for emergency assistance for travellers. India Assist offers an array of services including, medical emergency support, and on-ground support in theft, loss, emergency transit assistance, verified information and personal help in order to provide a seamless and hassle-free experience to travellers,” mentioned Khatri while talking about his company’s services.
