The Indian Tri-color flag is referred to colloquially as Tiranga in Hindi and the American flag is commonly referred to as the Stars and Stripes. The coming together of the two as symbols of peace and friendship in a neighborhood where Indian Americans are a significant population and where ballots are offered in Hindi and Gujrati, during the election process, makes this significant for the Indian diaspora across the United States.
