Cricket-lovers among the Indian diaspora in the US are planning for a tournament for the differently abled in India. A similar tournament was held for the two Telugu states – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana — last year. However, this time around, the other southern states, including Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will be involved.

The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) Differently Abled Wheelchair South India Cricket Cup would be organised at the Gitam University cricket stadium, Vizag in Andhra Pradesh from December 9-13, 2022.

President of Gitam, has come forward to allow the premises to be used for the tournament and also the stay of the participating teams

“All the participating teams will be given cricket kits. Their transportation and food will be taken care of. TANA members are contributing to make the event a big success,” said Shashank Yarlagadda, TANA sports coordinator, reported TOI.

The TANA is organising the tournament as part of the ‘Tana Aadarana programme’ in association with Andhra Pradesh Wheelchair and Disabled Cricket Association. M Sri Bharath,

President of Gitam, has come forward to allow the premises to be used for the tournament and also the stay of the participating teams.
