Oman Air has won Middle East’s Leading Airline, Middle East’s Leading Airline: Customer Experience, and Middle East’s Leading Airline: Economy Class at the prominent World Travel Awards 2021, voted for by air travellers based on their own experiences, said a statement issued by the Oman’s national carrier
The awards were announced online this year and recognize Oman Air’s excellence for its on-board products and services, customer care and passenger experience. This year’s award for Middle East’s Leading Airline: Economy Class follows consecutive wins in the same category from 2014 to 2020.
Abdulaziz Al Raisi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, commented: “Oman Air is delighted to once again be recognized for our outstanding products, services, and customer care, both in the air and on the ground. Our commitment to deliver a truly exceptional journey for all our valued guests has always been a priority, and these latest accolades from the World Travel Awards let us know that we’re delivering on that promise. They inspire us to keep innovating our product offering and elevating our service levels which consistently reflect the premium flying experience that Oman Air is renowned for.”
The airline has a fleet of 49 aircraft and currently operates a reduced network of 34 destinations (including Muscat) due to COVID-19 entry regulations around the world. By 2022, it expects to increase to 44 destinations
Oman Air has continued to receive awards from industry bodies, consumer groups and publications around the world. Notably in 2021, the airline has won ’Best Airline Staff in the Middle East’ at the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards 2021, a Five Star rating in the Major Airline category from the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), the Skytrax 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating, and the Skytrax 5-Star COVID-19 Lounge Safety Rating for its lounge at Muscat International Airport. The carrier and its Holidays division also earned the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
Abdulaziz Al Rashdi, Vice President Marketing, Oman Air, stated: “Winning these awards confirms once again that our valued guests appreciate our suite of innovative products and the authentic Omani hospitality offered by all our staff. Oman Air consistently ranks high for onboard comfort, luxury and service, and for the level of customer care received on the ground, whether arriving, transiting or departing. We are committed to a premium flying experience for all our guests and to maintaining service excellence throughout their entire journey—it’s what Oman Air does best.”
