Pursuit for higher education among women is higher

A spokesperson for the University of Hyderabad (UoH) V-C said notification dates for the entrance exam were subject to improvement in the overall Covid situation. The examination would be conducted in the offline mode.

Women have an edge over men as far as academics and pursuit of higher education is concerned.

A report from the University of Hyderabad (UoH) says that out of the 62,458 online admission applications, 52. 26 per cent are from girls, while 47.73 per cent are from boys

According to UoH sources, Telangana tops the list of students seeking admission (18,221), followed by Kerala (7,968), Bengal (5,922), Andhra Pradesh (5,551), Uttar Pradesh (4,435) and Odisha (3824.

A spokesperson from the Vice-Chancellor’s office says that the affiliation with the Institution of Engineering is another big plus for the University. 

A substantial number of admission applications are from the North-Eastern states.

According to the sources, the maximum number of applications are for the five-year integrated courses like MSc-Sciences (5595), MSc-Chemistry (4349), MCA (3914), MSc-Physics (3499), MA-English (3004), and five-year Integrated MA-Social Sciences (2664)

A spokesperson from the Vice-Chancellor’s office says that the affiliation with the Institution of Engineering is another big plus for the University.

“It has created a very positive image among the student community”, the spokesperson added.

As of now, a total of 2,272 seats are available for the 114 courses, including 17 (Integrated Courses), 45 (post-graduate courses), 9 (MTech) and 45 PhD programmes

The University of Hyderabad Vice-Chancellor has said: “In addition to the growing number of applications, there has also been a five-fold increase in the number of applications received from foreign students.

Known for its research and distinguished faculty, the University of Hyderabad is one of the major institutions of higher education in India, best known for its UG & PG level programmes. The admission is based on an entrance exam.
