When the country’s Oldie magazine decided to give the ‘Oldie Award’ to the 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-lived and longest-reigning monarch queen, not only refused it but also went on to say that she does not meet “the relevant criteria.”
In a letter shared by her assistant private secretary, Tom Laing-Baker, it stated that Her Majesty felt one is as old as one feels.
Former recipients of the Award, include former Prime Minister John Major, actor Olivia de Havilland and artist David Hockney. Prince Philip, the longest-serving consort of any British monarch, had received it in 2011, when he was 90
The Award goes to people advanced in years who have contributed positively to public life.

In fact, once the period of official Royal mourning ended, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, after the funeral of her husband of more than seven decades, Prince Philip, got down to conducting engagements by video link with foreign diplomats, as part of her royal duties, from her Windsor Castle home to the west of London.
