Take care of your kidneys

To all my friends who love to eat junk food. Let me tell you that my favourite food is french fries. But consuming food frequently with high salt content will harm your kidneys as they contain too much salt .

Let me enlighten you about how kidneys function in our body. A few days back,   my biology teacher talked about function of kidneys. I just learned from my biology teacher that our kidneys have this important job in our bodies. They help filter out waste and extra stuff from our blood. So, if we overload them with too much salt, it can mess with their work. Take care of those kidneys, folks!

The kidneys, vital organs in the human system, play a crucial role in maintaining overall health. They act as natural filters, removing waste products and excess fluids from the blood, producing urine. Additionally, kidneys help regulate blood pressure, electrolyte balance, and the production of red blood cells.

Kidneys are bean-shaped structures located on either side of the backbone (between transverse processes of T12-L3 vertebrae) and are protected by the ribs and muscles of the back. Each human adult kidney has a length of 10-12 cm, a width of 5-7 cm, and weighs around 120-170g.

It is the main excretory organ in humans. The kidney filters the blood and excretes waste along with water in the form of urine.

The kidneys have an inner concave structure. The blood vessels (renal artery and renal vein), ureter, and nerves enter the kidneys through the hilum, which is a notch at the inner concave surface of the kidney. The renal pelvis, a large funnel-shaped space present inner to the hilum, has many projections known as calyces.

To maintain kidney health, it is important to adopt healthy habits. Staying adequately hydrated by drinking enough water is essential, as it supports proper kidney function. A balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, and whole grains helps prevent the formation of kidney stones and supports overall kidney health. Say no to French fries, burgers & Pizzas and eat healthy food .
