20 Indian missions abroad will now have dedicated tourism officers

The countries where these officers have been designated are Australia, Canada, China, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Japan, the UK, Oman Singapore  and the US, among others

To promote India’s culture and heritage in foreign nations and boost the country’s branding prospects, 20 Indian missions abroad, where there is large tourist footfall, will now have dedicated tourism officers. Union Minister tourism and culture G Kishan Reddy said vaccination against Covid-19 and tourism would go on together in the current scenario.

Articles in magazines, newspapers etc will be written to promote the brand Incredible India. According to a letter from MEA, the countries where these officers have been designated are Australia, Canada, China, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Japan, UK, Oman, Singapore and the US, among others.

 

Minister of State for Tourism Ajay Bhatt was of the opinion that just as in the South culture and tourism have gone hand-in-hand, thanks to the comprehension of the people there and tourism has got a major boost as a result, rest of the country should also follow in the same path for best results

 

While G Kishan Reddy thanked the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for the quick response to his proposal regarding the posting of tourism officers, speaking at a two-day conference of tourism and culture ministers of South India that began in Bengaluru, he said the vaccination numbers have acted as a booster for the revival of tourism.

He issued an impassioned plea to all to participate in the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
