IDE Technologies faces legal dispute as Abraham Accord expansion looms

As prospects for a settlement in Gaza improve, expectations are rising for a broader expansion of the Abraham Accords, potentially opening new markets across the Arab world.

Israeli technology firms are positioning themselves to tap into this opportunity, particularly in defense, desalination and water treatment sectors.

Among them IDE Technologies Ltd, Israel’s flagship desalination company, has emerged in the spotlight-though not entirely for positive reasons.

The firm is now embroiled in a major corporate dispute with its European partner, which has filed a lawsuit seeking several hundred million euros and claiming rights over IDE’s technologies in the Gulf region.

Sources familiar with the matter suggest that the legal action may have backing from insiders linked to the company, raising concerns over governance and internal conflicts.

Analysts warn that the development could affect IDE’s credit ratings and complicate its efforts to secure financing as it looks to benefit from the anticipated regional thaw under the expanding Abraham Accord framework
