Abu Dhabi has further intensified its focus on India as a key tourism market by expanding its flagship “Experience Abu Dhabi Roadshow” to three new Tier 2 cities—Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Pune. Organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), the initiative attracted over 600 Indian travel trade professionals and featured more than 30 stakeholders from Abu Dhabi’s tourism ecosystem.
With India accounting for 12% of all international hotel guests in 2024, the roadshow underscored Abu Dhabi’s commitment to deepening its presence in the Indian market beyond the metro cities. The April sessions were designed to highlight the emirate’s cultural, family-oriented, and adventure-filled offerings, along with new travel packages specially curated for Indian travelers.
-
Looking ahead, DCT Abu Dhabi plans to return with a new leg of the roadshow from September 8–12, 2025, this time targeting New Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai
-
The goal is to strengthen ties in India’s leading metro cities and enhance the visibility of Abu Dhabi’s brand
The roadshow featured engaging activities such as interactive quizzes and photobooths, ensuring memorable participation. Travel agents were equipped with destination guides, marketing materials, and access to a dedicated e-learning platform, enabling them to better promote Abu Dhabi as a premier travel destination.
Abdulla Mohammad of DCT Abu Dhabi reaffirmed India’s strategic importance and lauded the strong response from the Tier 2 markets. The campaign positions Abu Dhabi as a destination that seamlessly blends heritage with modern luxury, attracting a broad range of Indian travelers.
