400 gms medium sized prawns . Deveined head removed but tail on
Salt
1 tsp turmeric
3 tsps chopped garlic
3 tbsps mustard oil
For the gravy
2 tbsps browned onion paste
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
3 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup freshly grated coconut
1 tsp red chilli paste
2 tbsps mustard oil
Salt
Half tsp turmeric powder
In one pan heat the oil and sauté the prawns adding garlic salt and turmeric.
In another pan prepare the gravy. Heat the oil . Add all the pastes and spices and coconut and stir over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Mix in 2 cups of water and bring to a simmer. Mix in the cooked prawns and continue to simmer for another minute. Garnish with green chilies and serve with steamed rice.
