Curry leaves or kadi patta (also pronounced as Kari Patta) are one of the most common ingredients used in Indian households. Most of us use these leaves to add that amazing flavour and fragrance to our different preparations. An easy way of adding curry leaves to a daily routine for health benefits is by drinking curry leaf tea.
Ingredients: for 4 people
Curry leaves – 30-40 fresh or dried. water -4 cups.
honey- to taste
and lemon -as per taste
- Take around 30-40 curry leaves from the plant and wash them thoroughly.
- Soak these leaves in 4 cups of hot water in a pan overnight or for 3-4 hours.
- Afterwards, bring it to a boil, and simmer for at least 4-5 minutes.
- Strain the tea and add honey to taste.
- Serve the tea with lemon rings and enjoy the refreshing cup of goodness in the morning.
This tea is advised to be consumed on an empty stomach. If fresh curry leaves are not available, then they can easily be purchased from grocery stores.
