UAE clamps down on travel of unvaccinated travellers

All fully vaccinated citizens will have to take a booster dose to be eligible to travel out of the country. However, in certain situations, there could be a few exemptions

With Covid-19 cases rising, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that a ban on travel of UAE citizens, who were unvaccinated with a registered Covid-19 vaccine would be imposed from January 10. All fully vaccinated citizens will have to take a booster dose to be eligible to travel out of the country. However, in certain situations, there could be a few exemptions.

 

As per the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE on January 1, 2022 reported 2,556 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative infections to 764,493

 

Affairs and International Cooperation-UAE (MoFAICUAE) have imposed a ban on travel on UAE citizens unvaccinated with Covid-19 vaccine, starting January 10, 2022, with a requirement to obtain the booster dose for the fully vaccinated. With an exemption for those medically exempted from taking the vaccine, humanitarian and treatment cases.

Travel will be permitted for unvaccinated citizens from the following categories of individuals: medically exempted from taking the vaccine, humanitarian cases, and individuals travelling for medical and treatment purposes.
