The new visa regulations were released last month, and they feature a 10-year expanded golden visa programme, a five-year green residence beneficial to skilled employees, and a new multiple-entry tourist visa allowing them to stay in the nation for up to 90 days. These changes will have a significant influence on both visitors and individuals seeking employment in the UAE.
The five-year green visa, under the UAE’s new immigration laws, will allow foreigners to sponsor themselves without the assistance of UAE natives or their employers. This visa is open to freelancers, skilled workers, and investors, reported nriaffairs.com.
Green card holders can now sponsor their own family members. If a green visa holder’s permission expires, they will be permitted up to six months to renew it.
The golden visa also includes a 10-year extended residence period. A golden visa is available to investors, entrepreneurs, and those with promising potential. Also, golden visa holders can also sponsor their children and family members. Family members of a golden visa holder may also remain in the UAE after the person’s death as long as the visa is valid.
According to the new immigration legislation, golden visa holders will also be able to own 100% of their business. Visitors will be able to remain in the UAE for up to 90 days in a row with a five-year multi-entry tourist visa. According to the new guidelines, tourist visas would allow travellers to stay in the UAE for 60 days.
The revised immigration policy has been welcomed by non-resident Indians (NRIs). Keralites, who make up the largest portion of the Gulf diaspora, were reported saying that the new visa regulations were advantageous for foreign nationals, investors, and visitors to this Gulf Cooperation Council country. Multiple-entry visit visas were tolerant of NRI students who are continuing their education in India or other nations.

A sponsor or host will not be necessary for job exploration visas for degree holders. According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, it will be given to recent graduates from the top 500 colleges around the globe as well as those categorised in the first, second, or third skill level. Beyond the previous age limit of 18, parents can now sponsor their male children up to the age of 25, allowing them to continue their education and work in the UAE.
The golden visa amendment has made it possible for more professionals in the fields of medical, research, engineering, information technology, commerce, and administration to get a 10-year visa on the basis of earnings of AED 30,000 (about Rs. 6.7 lakh) each month. Additionally, these visa holders have the option of sponsoring an unlimited number of domestic workers, and their visas are valid for as long as they are outside the United Arab Emirates.
Expats will also benefit from a flexible grace period of up to six months under the new arrangement after their residence visa expires, as there is a 30-day grace period now. The multi-entry and employment exploration visas would entice investors and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises to investigate business and investment prospects in the UAE.
