Elderly Canadian NRI found murdered in his Ahmedabad apartment; police uncover shocking details
Ahmedabad police have arrested a couple from Memnagar for allegedly murdering 75-year-old NRI Kanaiyalal Bhavsar during a robbery at his Vastrapur flat on January 12. Initially believed to be a natural death, the case unfolded into a murder investigation following forensic evidence and missing valuables ,reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
Kanaiyalal Bhavsar, who had been living in Mohini Tower for 18 months, was discovered lifeless by his wife Varsha upon her return home on January 12. CCTV footage and police inquiries identified the suspects, 34-year-old Hina Thakor and her husband Anand, both residents of Gopalnagar.

A tragic turn of events reveals a planned robbery gone wrong
Hina, a masseuse acquainted with Kanaiyalal through a spa, exploited their 18-month association to plan the robbery. She entered his flat under the guise of a friendly visit and massage. When Kanaiyalal briefly regained consciousness during the robbery, Hina panicked and strangulated him. Anand joined her to steal gold jewellery, cash, and electronics worth ₹5 lakh.
