Judge Mark Jette, communicating through an interpreter, issued a no-contact order for the suspects and scheduled the next hearing for June 25. Prosecutor Marcel Daigle noted that this interval would allow the Crown to complete its evidentiary disclosure to the defense attorneys

In a significant development in the investigation of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s murder, four Indian nationals accused of his killing last year in Surrey, British Columbia, appeared before a Canadian court.

During their first joint appearance in BC Provincial Court in Surrey, three of the accused attended in person, while Amandeep Singh appeared via video link from Ontario, where he remains in custody on unrelated weapons charges

This case has further strained the already tense diplomatic relations between India and Canada, as reported by CBC News.

The suspects, identified as Karan Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22), Karanpreet Singh (28), and Amandeep Singh (22), were ordered by the court to avoid any contact with specific individuals in the community.
