India’s diplomatic presence in the UAE received distinguished recognition at the 5th Minister of Foreign Affairs Excellence Awards. Held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the event honored the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai with the prestigious Shield of Honour.

India was uniquely distinguished as the only country to receive two awards, acknowledging the exceptional efforts of its diplomatic missions. The accolades were accepted by Indian Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir and Consul General Satish Kumar Sivan.

The awards serve as a testament to the commendable efforts of Indian diplomatic missions in enhancing economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties between the two nations

Presented in the “Distinguished Accredited Missions in UAE” category, these awards highlight the significant role the Indian missions play in fostering strong bilateral relations between India and the UAE. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE’s commitment to excellence and innovation in government and diplomatic work, reflecting the broader vision for a future grounded in efficiency and creativity.

A total of eighteen accredited foreign missions and nine Ministry of Foreign Affairs departments were recognized in the main category. Other diplomatic missions, including those of the United States, Vietnam, Italy, Ireland, Bahrain, South Africa, Uruguay, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Yemen, were also celebrated for their exceptional contributions.
