First woman of Indian origin to lead UNEP FI Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI)
Indian-origin Amita Chaudhary has been appointed Chair of the Board of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI), a prestigious global position aimed at promoting sustainable finance and insurance practices worldwide, reported ndtv.com.
An alumna of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Chaudhary has held senior global roles, including at Unilever, and has been recognised with the Leading Women Award for Sustainable Development by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development
Headquartered in Geneva, UNEP FI is a global partnership between the United Nations and the financial sector, comprising over 500 members, including banks, insurers, and investors. The initiative mobilises private finance for sustainable development and works to create a financial system that delivers positive impact for people and the planet. Chaudhary’s appointment marks a significant milestone for Indian representation in global sustainable finance leadership.
