Charting new avenues in India-UK ties and global collaborations
In a symbolic gesture reinforcing the enduring ties between India and the United Kingdom, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar unveiled the fourth edition of ‘Bharat Bhawan,’ a quarterly Hindi magazine published by the Indian High Commission in London. The release of the magazine, which encapsulates the vibrant cultural tapestry of India, marked a significant moment during Jaishankar’s official visit to the UK from November 11-15.
The event, attended by India’s High Commissioner to London, Vikram Doraiwswami, and Deputy High Commissioner Sujit Ghosh, underscored the commitment to fostering cultural exchanges and strengthening diplomatic relations between the two nations. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the visit’s significance, stating that it “consolidated the long-standing historical ties” while providing renewed momentum for collaboration across diverse sectors.
During his stay, Jaishankar engaged in a series of high-profile meetings, including discussions with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Foreign Secretary David Cameron, and other key officials. The talks covered a broad spectrum of topics, from political and economic cooperation to defense and security, science and technology, innovation, health, education, and people-to-people connections.

The leaders reviewed the implementation of Roadmap 2030, highlighting its role in addressing contemporary challenges.
The visit also included dialogues on global developments such as the Indo-Pacific, West Asia, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
