NRIs, Indo-Canadians raise funds for flood-hit in Punjab

“Indus Canda Foundation, in a Zoom meeting of NRI Associations in USA, Canada UK, urged NRIs to donate to Punjab Red Cross or Chief Minister’s Punjab Relief Fund to help the people of Punjab affected by heavy floods and farmers of Punjab who have lost their crop, including donations to GADVASU to help in the animal loss in Punjab.”

Punjab will send to the Centre an estimate of losses caused by the floods in the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said recently, but will not beg for any financial package, reported patch.com.

Mann also accused the opposition parties in the state of indulging in politics over a natural calamity.

  • “We will join Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and NRI Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal, to assist in any way they request.”

  • “We also urge PM Narender Modi to tour Punjab and announce Punjab Flood mitigation resources and financial help.”
