150 trees planted as part of ‘Green Madayn’ Campaign

The workforce based in the companies and factories in the two industrial cities took part in the campaign alongside school students. 

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn”, in cooperation with Muscat Municipality’s Directorate General of Afforestation and Gardens, organised ‘Green Madayn’ Campaign to plant 150 trees in Nizwa and Samail Industrial Cities. 

The workforce based in the companies and factories in the two industrial cities took part in the campaign alongside school students. 

The campaign aims at enhancing awareness among the investing companies in the two industrial cities on the significance of afforestation efforts in achieving a safe and ideal environment, and thus reducing negative impacts. 

The efforts made by Madayn in this area play a key role in reinforcing sustainable development partnerships with the private sector in social responsibility aspects.

The objective of this event is to raise awareness among the industrial companies investing in Madayn to work together towards achieving an ideal environment and reducing its negative impacts,” remarked Al Hinai.

 

It also involves creating awareness on the significance of increasing green areas of the companies and disseminating awareness on water management and treatment methods adopted by a number of bodies in Oman.

 

“Such initiatives strengthen partnerships with the private sector in social responsibility aspects. These efforts shall open new horizons for sustainable development partnerships for future projects through the companies based in the various industrial cities of Madayn

Preserving biological diversity and protecting wildlife is everyone’s responsibility, and an obligation of every individual, whether a citizen or a resident of the Sultanate.

The Madayn campaign forms  part of the national initiative national initiative to plant ten million wild trees in the Sultanate to preserves several  wild species, increase green areas in the Sultanate and to combat desertification, which would help  preserve the environment and achieve sustainable development.
