Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi appealed to residents to extend warmth and respect to Indian diaspora attending the prestigious event in Bhubaneswar
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has urged the people of the state to extend a heartfelt welcome to the Indian diaspora arriving for the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), set to take place in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to 10 , reported sambadenglish.com.
A Celebration of Culture and Heritage
The event provides a platform to highlight Odisha’s rich art, culture, and heritage while reinforcing its global standing. CM Majhi emphasized the importance of making the guests feel at home and urged residents to maintain cleanliness and offer assistance whenever needed.
In a video message, CM Majhi remarked, “The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is being held in Odisha for the first time, presenting a golden opportunity to showcase our state’s dignity and culture on the global stage. Let us embody the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and ensure our diaspora guests feel welcomed and respected.”
He further highlighted the preparations undertaken, including city clean-ups, cultural programs, and the readiness of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to host the diaspora attendees.
The selection of Bhubaneswar as the venue aligns with the Central government’s ‘Purvodaya’ initiative aimed at fostering the development of the Eastern region.
The three-day event will feature cultural displays, visits to key tourist spots, and exhibitions, celebrating the achievements of the Indian diaspora and their contributions to the global community.
