Indians to mark Independence Day in style in Manama

The week-long festivities, which are being organised under the patronage of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain, begins with a grand painting competition on August 5 starting at 3pm.

Indians will celebrate the 75th year of independence at the Indian Club in Manama starting August 5.

Titled ‘Jai Ho’ (The Colours of Independence), the events are being held to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, and 50 years of diplomatic ties with Bahrain. The week-long festivities, which are being organised under the patronage of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain, begins with a grand painting competition on August 5 starting at 3pm.

A live painting campaign will be held on August 12 from 4pm onwards and on the same day, a patriotic song competition will be held from 6pm.August 11, 12 and 13 will see individuals participating in a photography contest and exhibition

Winners of each category will receive prizes and trophies during the grand finale which has been scheduled for August 13 from 8pm.

Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava will be chief guest at the event.
