On his part, Abdullah Salim Al Mamari, Head of Al Mamoura Sports Team, thanked the bank for the completion of the field’s lighting system, which was implemented through Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme.

Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme is one of the leading CSR programs in Oman which provides support to local sports teams as part of the bank’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure in Omani sports and provide green spaces throughout the Sultanate of Oman.

The scope of support under the Green Sports programme include installation of artificial turf or natural grass on sports fields, floodlighting and water-desalination systems.

In 2021, the bank increased the number of annual beneficiaries to 20 on the occasion of the flagship CSR programme’s 10th Anniversary and the bank recently announced the 20 winners for this year. It is a matter of great encouragement that the Green Sports programme has benefitted 163 teams and over 50,000 team members across the Sultanate of Oman so far.

The facilities developed as part of the programme are often used as a venue for other social activities by communities across Oman, leading to stronger social bonding and positive behaviour among young people as well as the development of talented Omani youth.

Through the 2022 edition of this flagship CSR programme, Bank Muscat has further strengthened its pioneering role in the field of social responsibility and sustainability, and its continuing drive to develop modern sports infrastructure across the Sultanate in the spirit of the Public-Private Partnership model.
