The North East Institute of Fashion Technology (NEIFT), Assam which has been hosting the annual festival, Celebrating Northeast, for the past 14 editions in Delhi and Guwahati with the vision to promote the tourism, textile, cultural, and musical heritage industries, will hold a festival in Washington DC, reported G Plus News.

The NEIFT is bringing its ‘Festival to the World Arena’ and organising it at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Washington DC, in the USA on December 11, 2022,

According to NEIFT, it is urgently necessary to reconsider tactics for promoting the tourism sector in the Post-Covid Era. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged the Indian diaspora to be “Rashtradoots”. The “Chalo India!” campaign will be a big success and represent a revolutionary move for the Indian tourist industry if every Indian fulfills his goal of persuading five friends who are not Indian to visit India.

The Festival will be a Thematic Exhibition Arena, a B2B meet-cum-Open Forum on Tourism Potentials of the Exotic North East of India, and the Development of Sustainable Textiles for “Textile Tourism” will be included

The Chief Executive Officer of NEIFT, Vikram Rai Medhi, believes that the 4.2 million-strong Indian diaspora in the USA, will undoubtedly play a significant part in “Chalo India!” becoming a game-changer for the nation’s tourism industry.

The Festival will be a suitable venue for spreading awareness about the “Chalo India” campaign among a strong, united community made up of medical professionals, IT specialists, MNC employees, restaurant owners, and chefs, as well as entrepreneurs who have access to sizable social and professional networks.

Rai Medhi described the details of the Washington, DC event to the media in New Delhi. It will be a Thematic Exhibition Arena, a B2B meet-cum-Open Forum on Tourism Potentials of the Exotic North East of India, and the Development of Sustainable Textiles for “Textile Tourism” will be included.
