Muscat, Oman: Indian School Al Ghubra grabbed top honours at the grand finale of the ‘Infinity’ Math Championship conducted by the Aditya Birla World Academy (ABWA), Mumbai in association with BITS Pilani and the University of Waterloo, Canada, that was held on
on January 14 and 15.
The Zonal round of the competition was held in November 2022 with the participation of 450 teams from across the globe.
Each team comprised three participants. After the grilling Zonal rounds, the top 50 teams from around the world were selected for the grand finale.
Roshni Ramananda Prabhu, Kabir Sethi, and Sabyasachi Choudhury, of Grade 10 from Indian School Al Ghubra, did exceedingly well in the Zonal round with Roshni R Prabhu winning the silver award. Their exceptional performance enabled the trio to qualify for the final.
There were four rounds in the finale: The Clash of Mathematicians (the only individual round), Math Challengers, Pass the Baton and Bulb Your Ideas.
The top three teams from these three rounds qualified for the grand finale – the Quizzitch round, which was an engrossing on-stage live Maths Quiz.

The students of team ISG had to compete against some of the most reputed schools across India and the world. They emerged victorious in this clash of the titans where Roshni R. Prabhu bagged the Bronze and Sabyasachi Choudhury bagged the Gold awards in the Clash of Mathematicians round.
The Al Ghubra students have certainly crossed a memorable milestone and established their reputation as “simply the best” in an international level contest.
