Indian businessman PNC Menon to build 300 houses for the needy in Oman

Menon was granted Omani citizenship in 1995 and awarded with Pravasi Bharatiya Samman in 2009

PNC Menon, who started his professional career in Oman, announced to contribute RO9.6 million to build 300 homes for orphans and needy families over the ten years.

He signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Rahma Association of Motherhood and Childhood in Muscat to do the project.

Menon was granted Omani citizenship in 1995, by the then His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. He was also awarded with Pravasi Bharatiya Samman by the Government of India in 2009

 Sobha Group chairman, PNC Menon is a real estate developer in the UAE and India, signed the MoU with Sana Abdulrahman al Khanjari, chairwoman of Al Rahma Association of Motherhood and Childhood Welfare.

Sana bint Abdul Rahman Al Khanjariya, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Al Rahma Association for Motherhood and Childhood Care, said that the association sponsors more than 1,600 orphans from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, and about 600 needy families, in addition to 1,700 families on a seasonal basis who are provided with various humanitarian assistance

“Rahma Association of Motherhood and Childhood Welfare offers moral, financial, and in-kind support to underprivileged families and children, in addition to educational and recreational services to encourage academic growth,” Oman Observer reported.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is now working on completing the procedures for granting lands to the list of families that have been selected by the ministry, as well as those that will be selected to be among the recipients of assistance in building a house for the first phase of the project’s life, the report said.
