NRI farmers invited to Punjab Agriculture University meet

The successful NRI farmers will be asked to interact with students, so that those pursuing various agriculture-based courses could take up agriculture as one of the main reasons if they want to settle abroad

To promote technological innovation in agriculture, Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) has invited Non-Resident Indian (NRI) farmers settled in various countries who have achieved big in agriculture.

In a 3-day conclave of NRIs from May 10-12 at PAU, Ludhiana, they will be asked to narrate their success stories and inform Punjab’s farmers how they could become big. The successful NRI farmers will also be asked to interact with students, so that those pursuing various agriculture-based courses could take up agriculture as one of the main reasons if they want to settle abroad.

The NRIs will have an interface with the makers of agricultural policy for Punjab, and explain to them the farm schemes and policies of their countries. The Foundation of Indian and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), the US-based non-profit organization will organize an Indian American Advocacy Summit 2023 at Capitol Hill, Washington DC on April 27 2023 to highlight and deliberate on issues close to India and the Indian diaspora community, reported indicanews.com. .
