A vibrant cohort of 60 Indian-origin non-resident students and young individuals have recently landed in Kochi, marking the commencement of the 66th edition of the esteemed ‘Know India Programme’ initiated by the Union Ministry of External Affairs.
Orchestrated under the leadership of NORKA Roots on behalf of the Kerala government, this immersive program is set to offer these participants an enriching experience across various districts of the state, including Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kottayam, and Alappuzha, as reported by etvbharat.com.
The group was warmly greeted upon their arrival at Kochi International Airport by Dr. Anchal Krishnakumar, the State Program Coordinator and NORKA Roots Public Relations Officer; V Devarajan, NORKA Roots Finance Manager; Latish Sasidharan, Administrative Officer; Rajish, Ernakulam Center Manager; and Srikanth G, Assistant Coordinator.

Distinguished officials elucidated that the ‘Know India Programme’ stands as a comprehensive three-week orientation for non-resident youths and students of Indian origin. The overarching goal of this endeavor is to foster a deep understanding of the multifaceted aspects of life in India, as well as to showcase the nation’s strides across various domains.
As per these officials, this experiential journey will provide a unique lens through which these expatriate youths can witness India’s advancements in economy, industry, education, science, technology, communication, and information technology. They expressed, “The program creates an avenue for Indian-origin students and young professionals to not only explore the country but also to exchange their perspectives, aspirations, and experiences, thus nurturing a stronger bond with the nation.”
