Arijit Singh to perform at India-Pak World Cup match in Ahmedabad

Shankar Mahadevan and Sukhwinder Singh will be the other star performers at the show

New Delhi: An official  announcement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) says  playback singer Arijit Singh will perform at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, Oct 14, just before the epic 2023 World Cup showdown between India and Pakistan, an IANS reportin The Tribune,Chandigarh, says. 

On Thursday night, Oct 12, the BCCI posted a tweeton X: “Kickstarting the much-awaited #INDvPAK clash with a special performance! Brace yourselves for a mesmerising musical special featuring Arijit Singh at the largest cricket ground in the world- The Narendra Modi Stadium,” 

Adding more firepower  to the show, Shankar Mahadevan and Sukhwinder Singh will be joining the musical fiesta later.

A broad spectrum of celebs, from Bollywood, politics, and other high-profile areas, are likely to attend the World Cup encounter.

Talking about the performances in the ongoing tournament, both India and Pakistan have done very well in all their matches. 

While India has secured victories against Australia and Afghanistan, , Pakistan has emerged victorious against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka, having played their warm-up games and initial round-robin matches in Hyderabad.

In ODI World Cup matches, India has maintained a perfect record against their arch-rivals, winning all seven encounters and will be aiming to continue their dominance in Saturday’s match
