In a momentous occasion coinciding with the inauguration of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Air India Express commenced its operations from Ayodhya with the inaugural flight to Delhi on December 30, 2023.
The historic flight, identified as IX 1769, departed Ayodhya at 17:23 hours, marking Ayodhya as the 45th destination on the Air India Express network and the airline’s third station in Uttar Pradesh, following Lucknow and Varanasi.
Aloke Singh, the Managing Director of Air India Express, commemorated this milestone by presenting the first boarding pass of the flight to the esteemed guests at the Ayodhya airport. Addressing the occasion, Singh expressed pride in directly connecting Ayodhya to major metropolitan cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata right from the commencement of operations.
This noteworthy event aligned with the inauguration of the new international terminal at Surat International Airport. The airline continues to contribute to the connectivity and accessibility of various regions, facilitating travel with efficiency and comfort.
Highlighting the significance of these cities as major hubs in the Air India Express network, he emphasized the convenience they would offer to pilgrims and tourists from the Northern, Southern, and Eastern regions of India, providing seamless one-stop itineraries to reach Ayodhya.
Air India Express is set to operate daily services from Ayodhya to Delhi, with tri-weekly flights to Bengaluru and Kolkata. Bookings for these flights can be made through the airline’s user-friendly app and website airindiaexpress.com, as well as other major booking platforms.
Expanding its footprint in Uttar Pradesh, Air India Express currently operates both international and domestic services. The airline runs a weekly schedule of 21 flights, connecting the sacred city of Varanasi to Bengaluru and Sharjah. Moreover, it provides 60 weekly flights from Lucknow, linking the capital city to Dubai and prominent Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Pune.
In a bid to enhance customer experience, Air India Express recently introduced the Vista VIP, a business class-like product. This premium offering includes wider seats, increased legroom, Gourmair hot meals, additional baggage allowance, and Xpress ahead priority boarding services.
Adding another feather to its cap, Air India Express achieved the distinction of being the first airline to operate a direct flight from Surat to Dubai. This noteworthy event aligned with the inauguration of the new international terminal at Surat International Airport. The airline continues to contribute to the connectivity and accessibility of various regions, facilitating travel with efficiency and comfort.
