Pravasi Gujarati Parv 2024 sees participation of Australian and New Zealand MPs

TV9 Network on February 10 hosted the second edition of the biggest gathering of global Gujaratis under the ‘Pravasi Gujarati Parv 2024’ with an aim to showcase the success stories of Gujaratis around the world.

The session, ‘The Pacific Sojourn – Kangaroo, Kiwi & Khandvi’, with Julia Finn, Member of Parliament, Australia and Michael Wood, former minister of New Zealand, was hosted by Kartikeya Sharma, Deputy Managing Editor of News9 Live, India’s only English streaming CTV news, and Ojas Rawal.

The relationship between the Indian diaspora and Australia is very deep. Speaking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in Australia last year, Julia stated that the people in her country like PM Modi . Julia announced that she is on her fourth visit to India.

While highlighting the deep cultural ties between both the countries, Wood stated that the Indian diaspora has been deeply connected with New Zealand since 1860. He said the Indian community is part of the social fabric of their country. “During Covid pandemic, temples and Gujaratis became the hub of activities,” Wood hailing the Indian said.
