Early risers formed long queues, eager to be among the first to purchase Apple’s latest flagship models—the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Crowds started gathering at Apple’s flagship stores hours before the doors opened. “I’ve been in line for 21 hours,” said Ujjwal Shah, a customer at the Mumbai store. “The excitement this year is on another level. I stood in line for 17 hours last year, but this time, it’s even better with the new features and design.”
Akshay, another early customer who traveled from Surat, was thrilled to get his hands on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. “I love the new iOS 18, and the camera zoom is impressive,” he shared, reflecting the excitement among buyers regarding Apple’s advancements.

The iPhone 16 Pro starts at ₹1,19,900, while the larger iPhone 16 Pro Max is priced at ₹1,44,900. These models boast larger displays, with the Pro version measuring 6.3 inches and the Pro Max featuring a 6.9-inch screen, the largest in the iPhone lineup. Both devices come with storage options ranging from 128GB to 1TB. The base iPhone 16 model is available at ₹79,900, and the iPhone 16 Plus starts at ₹89,900.
One of the key innovations is the A18 Pro chip in the Pro models, a 6-core GPU that is crucial for powering AI-based features. Apple claims the A18 Pro is 20% faster than its predecessor, while the 6-core CPU performs tasks 15% more efficiently. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models are equipped with the A18 chip, which offers a 30% speed boost over the A16 Bionic chip, alongside a 5-core GPU that is 40% faster.
Additionally, Apple has announced that its new “Apple Intelligence” feature, integrated into iPhone 16 devices, will roll out in a software update next month. This feature will allow users to proofread, summarize, and rewrite text, as well as record and transcribe audio through the Notes and Phone apps.
