Arctic Wolf, a leading US-based security operations company, has launched its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India, choosing Bengaluru as its base, news18.com reported. This strategic move aims to leverage the city’s skilled workforce to accelerate advancements in machine learning (ML) models and AI-powered cybersecurity detections for its platform.
Jeff Green, Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Arctic Wolf, emphasized that the decision to set up the GCC in Bengaluru marks a significant shift in the company’s approach. “Over the last two decades, I’ve built teams in India, and I’ve seen how talent here can not only augment US capabilities but fully own product development,” Green said. “Instead of relegating teams to legacy work, we’re giving them our toughest challenges, and the results have been promising.”

Arctic Wolf’s Chief Product and Services Officer, Dan Schiappa, echoed this sentiment. “Our mission is to eliminate cyber risks for organizations of all sizes, and the research and development happening in India will be key to achieving this. I’ve given the Bengaluru team full ownership of a critical AI project, not as an auxiliary team, but as the core focus,” he explained.
The new centre is set to enhance Arctic Wolf’s platform by driving innovation and product development. Additionally, it will enable the company to offer round-the-clock development capabilities while being closer to its clients in the Asia-Pacific region. This initiative positions the company for growth in APAC markets, while also contributing to job creation in India.
By mid-2025, Arctic Wolf plans to recruit 150 employees for its Bengaluru GCC, focusing on roles in threat intelligence, AI, and core research and development. Currently, 20% of the company’s global R&D headcount is expected to be based in India by next year, and that percentage is projected to increase over time.
