Celebrating culture and contributions at Pravasi Odia Divas by World Odisha Society

The celebration highlights WOS’s commitment to global Odia unity, cultural preservation, and honoring excellence within the diaspora

The World Odisha Society (WOS) will host Pravasi Odia Divas on January 11, 2024, in Bhubaneswar, blending physical and virtual participation, reported sambadenglish.com.

 The event coincides with the fourth foundation day of WOS and follows three days after the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebration.

Honoring Global Odia Excellence

The event will feature the prestigious Pravasi Odia Samman and Ratnashri Puraskars, recognizing notable contributions by eminent Odias worldwide. Additionally, a special souvenir reflecting Odia heritage and achievements will be released.

  • Key participants included WOS founder Dr. Arundhati Devi (India), International Convenor Santosh Mishra (Russia), Adviser Dhirendra Kar (USA), and members from the UAE, Australia, UK, and beyond. Leaders of regional chapters and youth wings also contributed their insights

A cultural gala, Utkala Utsava, will celebrate Odisha’s performing arts and cultural legacy. This vibrant showcase embodies the state’s rich heritage and traditions.

WOS: A Growing Global Network

Established in 2021, WOS began with members from 20 countries and now spans 72 nations. Its mission is to unite the global Odia diaspora, fostering cultural preservation and social contributions.
