A global spotlight on Indian spirituality and culture as Mahakumbh hosts 21-member delegation from 10 countries
The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government’s Mahakumbh has become a global attraction, with a 21-member international delegation from 10 countries set to take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam on January 16, reported yespunjab.com.
International delegation to explore the spiritual essence of Mahakumbh
Arriving on January 15, the delegation will stay at the luxurious Tent City in Arail, arranged by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. They will explore the Mahakumbh Mela grounds, participate in a heritage walk showcasing Prayagraj’s rich cultural heritage, and enjoy an evening of relaxation and traditional hospitality.
A full-day immersive cultural and spiritual experience
On January 16, the delegation will perform the holy dip at Triveni Sangam at 8:00 a.m. After breakfast, they will witness an aerial view of the Mahakumbh Mela via helicopter before departing at 1:30 p.m.
The delegation features representatives from Fiji, Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, and the UAE.
Cultural Mahakumbh to enrich the ongoing festivities
The Mahakumbh Mela will also host ‘Sanskriti ka Mahakumbh’ (Cultural Mahakumbh) from January 16 to February 24. The cultural extravaganza will feature captivating performances at key venues:
- Ganga Pandal: Bollywood singer Shankar Mahadevan will perform on the opening day
- Yamuna Pandal: Students from Kashi’s Sanskrit schools will present Mangalacharan
- Saraswati Pandal: Padma Shri Ramdayal Sharma and his team will showcase Nautanki, narrating the story of Krishna and Sudama
The event highlights India’s diverse cultural heritage through performances by renowned artists and promises to leave an indelible mark on global visitors.
