A devastating road accident in Saudi Arabia has claimed the lives of 15 individuals, including nine Indian nationals. The fatal crash occurred on Sunday near Jizan, close to the Yemeni border, when a bus carrying 26 workers collided with a trailer.
The accident has left 11 others injured, including two Indian nationals from Telangana, who are currently receiving medical treatment in local hospitals.

The Indian consulate in Jeddah confirmed the tragic loss in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), assuring full support to the bereaved families. “Our heartfelt condolences to the families affected. We also wish a speedy recovery to the injured. A dedicated helpline has been set up for further queries,” the consulate stated. Officials are actively coordinating with local authorities to provide necessary assistance.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also expressed his sorrow over the incident. In a post on X, he mentioned that he had spoken with the Indian Consul General in Jeddah, who is closely monitoring the situation and extending support to the affected families.
