New Visa categories introduced for high-value investments
New Zealand will relax visa rules starting April 1, 2025, to attract more foreign investors and stimulate economic growth.
This move follows the recent relaxation of visa rules that allow holidaymakers to work remotely while visiting, aimed at boosting the tourism sector, reported indianexpress.com.
Immigration Minister Erica Stanford announced that the investor visa category will become “simpler and more flexible,” encouraging investors to bring their capital, skills, and international connections to New Zealand.
In January, the government unveiled plans to establish Invest New Zealand, a dedicated international economic development agency, to serve as a central hub for overseas investment
Two new visa categories—one for “higher-risk investments” and another for “mixed investments”—will be introduced to diversify economic opportunities.
With the country having slipped into a technical recession in the third quarter of 2024, the government is actively seeking ways to bolster economic recovery.
