The ‘Visa Fraud Ton Bacho’ initiative aims to educate individuals on avoiding visa fraud and ensuring safe migration
The UK government has launched a new awareness campaign called ‘Visa Fraud Ton Bacho’ to combat visa fraud, targeting the Indian community, particularly in Punjab.
The campaign was inaugurated at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Jalandhar, where notable figures gathered to discuss the importance of protecting individuals from fraudulent agents, reported gujaratsamachar.com.
The event saw the participation of LPU Chancellor and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, British Deputy High Commissioner to India Christina Scott, and Deputy High Commissioner Caroline Rowett, among other dignitaries.
Dr. Mittal emphasized that LPU is committed to working alongside NGOs and student organizations to promote this initiative, especially in rural areas with limited access to information.
The programme, which seeks to empower people with knowledge on legal migration pathways, encourages the spread of awareness
He shared, “Our goal is to educate people about fraudulent practices and guide them towards ethical migration opportunities. This awareness campaign will help students and others identify legal paths for global opportunities.”
Rowett also spoke at the event, highlighting Punjab’s significant contribution to global communities. She encouraged attendees to help spread the message and ensure that dreams of migration are realized legally and safely.
Through workshops and interactive sessions, the programme aims to provide a safe and informed approach to migration.
